Design a fashionable and utilitarian backpack for a dog.
During my internship at Petsavvi Inc., I was tasked with designing a line of future products to retrofit the proprietary Otto Dog Harness. Amongst others, one of these products would be a backpack to be worn by the dog.
I conducted market and material research, did many drawings, prototyped the general form, and devised the cuts for production of the bag. Design factors included:
Product must:
Hold dog bags, dog bowl, treats, water bottle, first aid
Be comfortable, safe and secure
Product should:
Have space for additional items
Self-balance when full
Be breathable, water resistant
Work with and without Otto Harness, take leash
Have high-vis taping
Product could:
Float in water
Be waterproof
Have quick-access for doggy-bag
Convert to carrying bag for owner
